Here are tips for reaching the most Potomac CFC donors that you can and educating our valuable federal employees about all your charity does in the community.

Attend CFC kick-offs with an energetic attitude and interactive displays.
Each of our local military bases has an annual CFC kick-off and agency fair where charities may display information about their organization.  The PCFO will send out details each year and ask for RSVPs on a first-come, first-serve basis, based on space.  If you have not received this information as Campaign Season (September) approaches, please let us know.

Send items and information to donors you are unable to contact personally.
If your charity cannot attend kick-offs due to distance or scheduling conflicts, you may send items to be given away at these events. Remember, “give-aways” attract more interest than brochures and it is important to include contact information in case the donor’s interest is peaked.  The PCFO will let you know how many items are suggested and the time frame you should send the items in.

Participate in developing our new website!
While we cannot mention charities specifically, we invite you to send us pictures or facts about what
you do with CFC dollars.  We will rotate pictures and fun facts out throughout the different pages to
engage visitors to our website.

Put CFC on your website!
Make sure you have a link to our new website so that your supporters who may work for government agencies can learn how they can support you through their workplace campaign.

Make sure your marketing materials are updated with accurate CFC info.  The CFC recently updated everyone’s designation codes to a five-digit system and we recently had a merger for local CFCs.  Make sure your number is correct on any marketing materials and that any mention of local CFC participation is listed under our new name “Potomac CFC”.  If you are interested in a logo or your code please contact us.

Participate in the Speaker’s Bureau.
While speaking engagements are not promised, you will not be contacted for opportunities to speak at staff meetings unless you have filled out the application to be a part of our speaker’s bureau.  This allows keyworkers the opportunity to invite speakers from charities that may be of interest to their employees to come and speak during the campaign timeframe.
